Antique 19th century sterling silver Gorham picture frame in Repoussé silver design, dated 1869. The piece is marked – The Gorham Mfg. Co., of Providence, Rhode Island, year-hallmarked B for 1869. This frame’s repoussé silver is hand worked into elaborate scrolls and fruit garlands. The frame’s top border is designed with a a large cartouche and its lower border is decorated with the head of a mythological creature with goat horns, a Satyr or Pan. The frame measures 6 inches high x 6 inches wide; frame measures 1 1/2 inches deep. Frame will hold a photo 3 ½ wide by 2 1/2 inches in high. Weight 145 gr. / 5 oz. Excellent condition.
