Description This magnificent watercolor is beautifully framed under glass. The overall measurements are 30″ x 42″ while the image measures 24″ x 36″. It is backed by foam board. Bud Shackelford Biography   Lyne T. “Bud ” Shackleford (1918 – 2005) Born: Washington, D.C.; Studied: Chouinard Art Institute (Los Angeles), Art Students League (New York); Member: American Watercolor Society, California Water Color Society. Bud Shackelford attended the University of Alabama in the early 1930s and then moved to Los Angeles. He studied with James Patrick, Phil Paradise and Lawrence Murphy and began producing watercolors of local landscapes and cityscapes. During World War II, he was an illustrator in the training department of the United States Army. After the war, he moved back to California and settled near San Diego. He has exhibited his transparent watercolors on a regular basis since the early 1950s and is primarily known for his geometric abstractionist works of art. In the 1930s, he worked at the Walt Disney Studios, producing art for feature films and a number of Cartoon shorts. In the 1940s, he wrote and illustrated As I See It, a book about his army experiences. In addition, he illustrated children’s books and became a successful commercial artist in the San Diego area. Shackelford has written two art books: Fun with Watercolors and Experimental Watercolor Techniques. He has also traveled to many parts of the world teaching art and painting.
